Paxos Acquires Fordefi in $100M+ Deal to Expand Institutional DeFi Access
Stablecoin issuer Paxos has made a strategic move into decentralized finance with its acquisition of crypto wallet startup Fordefi for over $100 million. The deal, announced November 25, 2025, positions Paxos to meet growing institutional demand for secure DeFi access.
Fordefi's MPC wallet technology will be integrated into Paxos' infrastructure, serving more than 300 institutional clients including PayPal. The acquisition reflects intensified competition among infrastructure providers to bridge traditional finance with blockchain ecosystems.
"This strengthens our ability to support institutions with more flexible and sophisticated digital asset infrastructure," Paxos stated in its announcement tweet. The transaction price remains undisclosed beyond confirming it exceeds nine figures.
